WHAT IS MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized, gentle form of massage developed by Dr. Emil Vodder in the 1930s to support the body's lymphatic system. Using slow, rhythmic, and precise hand movements, this technique encourages the movement of lymph fluid toward healthy lymph nodes, helping to reduce swelling, improve circulation of lymph, and support the body's natural waste removal processes. Unlike traditional massage, Vodder-style MLD does not use deep pressure. Instead, it works just beneath the skin where the lymphatic vessels are located, making it an effective treatment for post-surgical swelling, lipedema, chronic inflammation, and general fluid retention.
