SPORTS INJURY & RECOVERY

Whether you’re dealing with a new injury, an overuse injury, or something that keeps coming back, acupuncture can be a valuable part of the recovery process.

My approach combines traditional acupuncture, electrical stimulation, motor point and trigger point needling, cupping and guasha, and topical Chinese herbal therapies such as Evil Bone Water to address pain, muscle tension, circulation, inflammation, and restricted movement.

I also look beyond the immediate injury. In Chinese medicine, an injury is not always treated as an isolated problem. I consider the underlying patterns that may be affecting your ability to recover, including deficiency, poor circulation, fatigue, and imbalances that may make you more susceptible to injury or prolong recovery.

TREATING THE INJURY

Acupuncture and related therapies can be used to address:

  • Acute and chronic sports injuries

  • Muscle strains and tendon injuries

  • Joint pain and stiffness

  • Overuse injuries

  • Trigger points and muscle tension

  • Post-workout soreness and recovery

  • Limited mobility and restricted movement

  • Recurring injuries

A WHOLE-BODY APPROACH TO RECOVERY

Treatment is individualized based on the injury, your activity level, your current symptoms, and your overall health. Along with treating the painful or injured area, I look at the bigger picture to understand what may be contributing to the problem and what your body needs to recover well!
